1. How long have you been writing?

I've been writing all my life but only poems. I just started to write novels in 1998. I just sat down at the computer and started to write.

2. What inspired you to write a novel about spousal abuse?

The Lord gave me that story after a woman was killed at my work while trying to get a restraining order. I was devastated by the entire ordeal.

3. How did you come about the idea to write about alternate personalities?

I feel that we all have two personalities when we are pushed to far.

4. How did you come about Febe's character?

Once again I have to give credit where credit is due. The Lord blessed me with her voice. I needed to make her voice heard.

5. Did you do research to learn about women shelters?

Yes I did. I worked in the shelter for a long maybe a year or two. Until the pain was to much for me to bare.

6. How did you come about the idea for the WB organization?

That's in the Bible from Cain and Able. Jayr felt that ladies need to know who they are dealing with. Because the devil has a way of playing tricks on the mind when the heart is involved.

7. Are there any of your personality traits in any of your characters?

Yes I would have to say all of the above.

8. What message would you like readers to receive from reading For Every Black Eye?

Love hurts when it's coming from the fist.

9. Are you currently working on another novel?

I have two other novels ready for print. A) Homeless Love B) Tears In My Joy

10. What type of atmosphere do you require to write?

I like it to be quite, because I have to hear what my characters are saying to me.
